The Alto emerged from a single question: what does light look like when it comes from somewhere unexpected? The shade is hand-thrown stoneware — each one slightly different from the last — glazed in a warm ash that shifts from pale celadon to warm buff depending on the hour. The stem is solid blackened brass, weighted at the base so it stands with authority.
